Scott Brothers butchers have firmly established themselves as the leading butchers in and around Dundee through major investment into their retail shops over the last few years. A visit to any of the shops in Broughty Ferry or Dundee tells you that this business is setting standards for others to follow.

George and Scott Jarron, the current owners of the business, have driven change to not only meet the significant implications of the current hygiene legislation but also to provide a shopping environment that not many others can equal. Skilful and knowledgeable staff adds to the shopping experience that is on offer to all customers, old and new.

One thing that has not changed is the way they procure and handle the meats that they sell. Almost all of the beef is supplied direct from Ian Sim, Kincraig Farm, Brechin, who rears the cattle to the exact specifications that Scott Brothers require. If extra beef is needed, then either George or Scott personally selects it at the live auction at Forfar Mart, where they also select all of their lamb. Pigs are bought from Mark and Guthrie Batchelor, Carnoustie. Everything is local - the meat, the staff the shops!

While selecting and rearing the right breed of cattle is important, the real flavour of the meat is emphasised during the maturation process. This involves hanging the carcase for a period of up to 4 weeks, which many people try to do, but not many do it as consistently well as Scott Brothers. It is important to George and Scott to get this right, so that you, the customer, receive the same tasty meat week in week out.

Scott Brothers are always looking to give a value for money service and they have just launched a new Family Pack. This idea is to decide how much you want to spend then select a variety of products from 3 different categories. On average, you can save 15% on normal prices, and the selection of products available means there is something for everyone to choose from.

Scott Brothers really do work very hard to make your meal special. From farm to plate, nobody does it better!
