Paul, his wife Christine, daughter Mariesha and the entire family were devastated after the blaze in the early hours of January 15 at his shop in the Boghall district of the West Lothian town. But the 55-year-old, who has a staff of ten, was determined to re-open as soon as possible. And he said:
“I was on the phone to shop-fitters as the firemen were damping down the blaze. Luckily, they still had the plans and the tradesmen have done a really good job.
“My staff also worked round the clock to get things back open again. We rent the premises from the council and they have also given us tremendous help.”
He admitted: “It was a real blow when the fire happened, but I was determined not to let 37 years of work building the business go to waste.”
Paul Boyle added: “We've had hundreds of messages of support from all sorts of people and we thank them for that.”
