Changes to Tier levels from Boxing Day

All of the Scottish mainland will move to Level 4 from Boxing Day for three weeks.
That means a total closure of hospitality and non-essential shops.
Essential food shops will remain open as they have done over the last few months of the pandemic.

Other key announcements:

travel between Scotland & rest of UK is banned over Xmas/New period (some exceptions)
The festive relaxation is only permissible for Christmas Day (a maximum of 8 over 11s, across 3 households)
Schools will only return on 11 Jan, via online learning, it appears schools will be open to children of key workers (including those involved in the food supply chain) from 11 Jan. The intention is to have all children return to school on the 18th January.
