It was good to see our members receive recognition for their success at our recent Beef Burger, Speciality Burger and Speciality Sausage evaluation. The UK Government has the opportunity right now to put into law rules that prevent food being imported to the UK which is produced in ways that would be illegal here
Here at Countryside we champion food, farming and rural life, supporting the farming families who are proud to produce our nation's tasty, high quality and affordable food. But they are only able to do this if they can compete fairly with the rest of world. Created by industry body, Scotland Food & Drink, the supportlocal.scot platform aims to connect consumers directly with food and drink businesses.
Every Scottish region and every sub-section of the industry is represented, giving consumers a fantastic choice and the opportunity to sample new products or support their favourite brands.
The appetite of the Scottish public to support their local food and drink businesses has been clear to see since Coronavirus restrictions were introduced in March and businesses across the country have innovated to survive, none more so than the Independent butcher or farm shop who have serviced their local communities extremely well.
