Update to restrictions being considered
New testing measures for people travelling for essential purposes are likely to kick in at the end of next week, the FM confirms.

Students have been told to stay at home, with the return to accommodation and face-to-face learning extended.
The first minister was asked whether it is felt the public are obeying lockdown instruction or moving around more – and whether more are restrictions needed.
The FM says “anecdotally” there is a sense that people are still moving around more than in the March lockdown – but that it can “sometimes take a few days” for people's working arrangements to change.
Ms Sturgeon says January is perhaps not the best time to compare traffic flows due to holidays – an area which is still being measured.
She adds further restrictions are being considered such as
• limiting click and collect services to essential items only,
• restricting takeaways
• and asking whether people are heeding the “work from home” directive.
“We haven't reached decisions yet,” she says. “Please respect the lockdown with the same seriousness as you did last March.” She adds you could argue the new strain means this lockdown is even more important.
Chief Constable Iain Livingstone adds that he feels the “proportional and consistent” policing of the lockdown in Scotland has been effective. He says police will continue to “use common sense” and “exercise discretion” but will take enforcement action if needed.
