This area of termination will account for a large proportion of all the dismissals any employer may have to make.
Examples of dismissal for misconduct, serious misconduct or gross misconduct range from theft, vandalism, refusal to obey instructions, indecent behaviour and the use of foul language to being drunk at work.
The difference between the categories of misconduct lies in the fact that in cases of Misconduct and Serious Misconduct the dismissal is the end of the process covering previous warnings, whilst in the case of Gross Misconduct the offence is so serious that dismissal is warranted without any warning procedure.
