In this case, the pre-packed meat can be sold on to the retail outlet with the identification mark applied at the approved cutting plant still intact.

However, if the meat is handled or processed further by the butcher, the meat would have to be sold on without any identification mark but relevant paperwork must accompany the meat to ensure adequate traceability.
