European Recruitment – European Employment Services (EURES)

To Whom It May Concern,

The purpose of this letter is to introduce myself as the EURES Adviser for Scotland and to outline the excellent range of services available to you as an employer via the EURES network.

Firstly I would like to explain the function of the European Employment Services. In short, EURES is a network of 600 specialist advisers based throughout the European Economic Area in the Public Employment Services linked by a computerised vacancy circulation system and via the Internet.

Jobseekers from countries in the EEA have the opportunity to take up employment and are free to move without restrictions to any other Member State. Scotland is one of the most popular destinations for E.E.A jobseekers seeking to relocate.

As an employer in Scotland advertising vacancies via the EURES network, you would benefit from a pool of highly motivated applicants all of whom possess good customer service skills, a flexible attitude and a good command of the English language. It is important to note that all applications are carefully vetted before being passed to employers. Moreover as EURES vacancies are now also advertised on the Internet the circulation and response times are usually very quick, particularly for reception, bar and waiting and housekeeping positions. We can also advertise the full range of vacancies on the network, from managerial staff to IT staff, nurses any vacancies that are hard to fill or require languages.

In addition, we have launched a CV Search facility on our website.
This allows your company to register your details and search for suitable applicants on-line. The website address is: www.europa.eu.int/eures. There are currently 47,000 jobseekers and 1,800 employers registered on the site.

Finally I would like to point out that there is no charge for the above services. All that is asked in return is regular feedback i.e. the names, dates of birth and start dates of successful applicants. This not only helps maintain good working relationships but also allows me to feedback to my European colleagues therefore maintaining standards of levels of service and a professional image.

If you are interested in recruiting from the EEA countries, please do not hesitate to get in touch as I would happy to discuss your specific requirements further. Alternatively you can phone our vacancy taking centre directly with the details. Their telephone number is: 0845 601 2001.

Thank-you for taking the time to consider the services on offer. I look forward to us working together to meet our future recruitment needs.

Yours Faithfully,
Alison Carmichael, EURES Adviser, Scotland
