The wearing of face coverings is mandatory for customers in food retail and take-away establishments.
Customer facing staff are also required to wear face coverings in retail and take-away premises where it is not possible to maintain 2 metre distancing, and no other measures are in place to ensure physical separation (e.g. through the use of screening).
Staff in non-public facing roles, such as kitchen staff (or back shop preparation areas in our case), are exempt from wearing face coverings where this may present health and safety issues. However 2 metre distancing must be adhered 2 at all times when facemasks are not worn.
Hope this helps. The problem here is 2 slightly different messages coming out from the Prime Minister and the First Minister.
