How long will the course take?

All learning is undertaken within the candidate's own workplace and at his or her own pace.

The learning literature is user friendly and easily followed. The Handbook which is issued must be fully read and understood by the candidate before applying for an examination date.

It will be very useful to keep the handbook in the workplace for revision as it may form part of a “due diligence” defence, to demonstrate that the employee is receiving appropriate training in food hygiene prior to the exam.

Assessment

The candidate is assessed by a 30-minute examination consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions. Successful candidates will receive a Level 2 Award in Food Safety Certificate issued by The Royal Society for the Promotion of Health.
