Jim was only 50 and in a personal tribute, Paul Kelly wrote: “When the opportunity arose to start a business in Scotland with Jim and his brother Alistair, I jumped at the chance. To find such hardworking, honest people is rare, and to have them as friends as well made the decision very easy.”
Jim Monk promoted the Kelly brand in Scotland through presence at the BBC Good Food Show and at the Scottish Meat Trade Fair. His cheery and helpful disposition will be missed by butchers throughout the country.
Jim is survived by his wife Aileen, he was a much loved dad of Kim and Jade, a much loved son, brother and uncle of the family to whom the Federation send their condolences. Jim's funeral was attended by President Ian Faulds at Holmsford Bridge on Wednesday 15th May.
