National Butchers' Week Tastings to introduce a new product that is coming soon. This could generate interest and anticipation. Set up the barbecue outside and hand out samples.
Do a demonstration or talk in a local hall. Use the hook of NBW to get this going.
Set up cross selling
If your customers buy 3/4lb bacon for example, they would get a voucher for four rolls at the bakers.
If the baker sells six rolls and if they come to your shop they get a discount off the bacon or sausages.
Visit SFMTA members only website and pick a recipe to promote to your customers.
Print out on your own letterhead and give out in the shop.

If you are struggling, pick a Sausage and a Burger and call then National Butchers Week Sausage and National Butchers Week Burger.
Set up a competition in store for two different speciality sausages and the one that appeals most will be made in future.
Set up a “Question of Meat” Quiz with a prize. Use the sheets to gather names and email addresses. (remember need a tick box to agree)

Do a Customer Survey to find out customers views, what they like about you, what they don't like, what you think you should sell. Put an offer on the back to be redeemed when returned to the shop. All the supermarkets and coffee chains have feedback surveys so look at their websites.

Survey people at the other end of your street as a NBW initiative to find out if they know about you, where they buy meat, why they don't come to you all the time?
Invite the media to the shop to taste a steak supplied by your local farmer (if you have one) and highlight the partnership.
Put on a butchery masterclass to bone and prepare a side of lamb, some customers love watching specialist skills.
Use Social Media top promote your activity during National Butchers' Week are also invited to let us know about them and they may make the pages of the magazine and on our social media.
