QMS MEAT DISPLAY COMPETITION

Edinburgh butcher John Saunderson
triumphed in the Meat Display Competition sponsored by Quality Meat
Scotland at the Scottish Meat Trades Fair in Perth on Sunday 8th
May. John ably assisted by Alan McCormack impressed the judges to beat off
the other finalists from Hamilton, Dalry and Perth.

The event was organised by the Scottish
Federation of Meat Traders Associations (SFMTA) to encourage even better
meat displays in independent butchers' shops. Customers who use the
Leven Street shop already enjoy the finest quality meat but their eyes too
get a treat as they view the display in the refrigerated cabinets.

President Duncan Mackenzie of the
organisers SFMTA said:-

“It is the ability of craft butchers
in shops like Saundersons that gives the independent trade the advantage.
Master craftsman who can not only cut you something special but who also
have the skills to create wonderful attractive displays.”
