Rising From The Ashes

The Dalesman Group suffered a catastrophic fire on the night of 9th August which destroyed their Bradford site taking with it the warehouse, production and all office space.

Dusting themselves off the next day, the company, a family business supplying the food industry with premium seasonings, fine food ingredients, culinary and functional blends that has been trading for almost 40 years, set upon the task of rebuilding the business.

Using a local hotel as their temporary base, a business contingency plan was quickly put in place and within days' new offices and production units were quickly sourced, the raw ingredients started to be delivered the following day and manufacturing equipment sprung up in no time.

Manufacturing started up again only 5 working days after the first spark of the fire and customer orders started to be delivered only 3 working days after that.

Ian Rhodes, Senior Director said:-

“I cannot tell you how proud I am of the business, the determination and resilience of our staff were amazing and I cannot thank them enough. We have started to manufacture 24 hours a day to be able to support the requirements of our customers. our customer service and quality products are the two areas where we excel and we do not want our exacting standards to drop during this integral time for the business. In all, over 350 tonnes of product was lost in the fire, it will take us a while to be able to build back that level of reserve but we are up for the challenge! Lastly but certainly not least I would like to say a huge thank you to all our loyal customers. thank you for your patience and having faith in The Dalesman Group”
