SFDF Reformulation Programme

The Government has challenged the food industry to help lead the fight against obesity. This also makes good commercial sense as consumers become more aware of healthy eating and the importance of checking food labelling.

Chris Peace, Industry Technical Manager is an experienced food technologist with over 25 years of experience working in technical and new product development roles in the UK food industry.

The SFDF Industry Technical Manager can help your company by:

Providing “hands on” practical advice and support on technical issues relating to product reformulation;
Identifying opportunities to extend your product range into healthier markets;
Creative thinking to help you capitalise on the potential commercial opportunities;
Adjustment of portion sizes.
Our service will help you identify the opportunities and kick start the reformulation process by providing an initial product survey. A project plan will then be drawn up together with you.

SFDF's Technical Manager, Chris Peace, will provide support and advice to guide you through the reformulation process, based on his wealth of technical expertise and industry knowledge.

Open to all SMEs based in Scotland, your company could get up to 10 days of hands on consultancy.

SFDF's Reformulation Programme is funded by the Scottish Government and builds on the progress already delivered by industry in this area. The programme works collaboratively with other interested bodies including the Food and Health Innovation Service.
