Talking Turkey

SFMTA made some enquiries to establish alternative suppliers. The Poultry adviser at NFU Scotland had no contacts and they even have a problem when media queries come up as no one in this area is on the committee.

The British Poultry Council came up with two names:- Baileys Turkeys in Cheshire 01565 632174, (w do not know anything about them though) and the other Kellys.

There only appears to be one major source of Scottish birds Kelly Bronze Turkeys in Scotland – Jim Monk Tel: 01560 482404.

The cost is greater from this supplier but this is the only major source of Scottish birds.

In terms of other suppliers who can provide birds but they are likely to be English:-

Tayside Poultry Tel: 01382 827438 can be contacted week commencing 20 October as their sales manager is on holiday.
