2016 Extra Mile Award

In association with SQA
This category is for the trainee who has “gone the extra mile” in their own progression, new product development, customer service which has had a positive impact on the business they work in.

This category could be nominated by the employer, mentor or customers.

Winner: Jenna Douglas, JC Douglas, St Boswells TD6 0PA

We travel about one and a half hours for our Butcher Supplies and if I was to sum up Jenna in one word it would be helpful. With her knowledge of product and what`s best and in season, her constantly cheery attitude, her willingness to give you the best possible deal and not seek to oversell and best of all to go that extra mile and prep from stock when availability is low or indeed we wanted something cut or butchered in a specific way.

We have arrived on a couple of occasions as the shutters were going up to be met with "It`s nae bother what do you need this evening..."

A true customer and industry Champeen I would recommend strongly that Jenna is considered for an award for the reasons noted above.
Nominated by Mark McGilivray

So proud of my daughter Jenna Douglas. She has done very well passing her apprenticeship. She is always smiling and putting customers first. I`ve spoken to lots of customers who all think she is great and full of useful information and cooking tips. She manages the shop four times a year to let her dad away on holiday. She does all the ordering for the shop. Nominated by Kelly Douglas

Jenna always has a smile and friendly word for her customers. She knows her stuff too – giving information and advice about the products whenever asked – and she’s great with kids too. Nominated by Claire Townsend

Could I please nominate Jenna Douglas at JC Douglas Butchers in St Boswells for the Extra Mile Award. She is very friendly and takes time to speak to customers about where meat has come from and how it should be cooked. Jenna is knowledgeable in all aspects of products that she sells. Nominated by Lee McLeish
